The Neem tree is native to India. The Neem used in our Neem Supercritical CO2 Extract capsules is extracted from certified organic Neem leaves.
Our Neem is purchased directly from local farmers with support for fair trade, organic processing and sustainability. Manufacturing and additional quality control procedures are done in the U.S. under strict NNFA and FDA current good manufacturing practices. About 250 pounds of fresh organic Neem leaf is used to create one pound of Neem extract.
What is Supercritical CO2 Extract?
This is a process that extracts the helpful benefits of Neem without using chemical solvents. It produces a Neem extract with higher concentrations of beneficial phytonutrients.
Supercritical CO2 extraction increases the potency and purity of extracts. Natural carbon dioxide is used to create a pure extract with no solvent residue. This is a low-temperature process which retains and concentrates the broad-spectrum benefits of fresh Neem. Contraindications:
Neem should never be taken by anyone (male or female) who is pregnant or trying to conceive. We do not recommend neem to be used internally, in any form, by children under 100 pounds. Although people in some countries use neem oil internally, we never recommended the internal use of neem oil. Besides these issues, neem is generally considered to be one of the safest medicinal herbs available. The FDA's Office of Special Nutritionals maintains an extensive database of adverse affects from herbal medications which does not include any references to neem that would indicate potential problems. Even the Extension Toxicology Network documentation for using neem as a pesticide shows that it is "relatively non-toxic" and caused no significant problems even at the extraordinary high dosages fed to laboratory rats as part of the approval process required by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
